Liburnia Film Festival announced competition program

Organisers of the 16th edition of Liburnia Film Festival, festival of Croatian documentary film, co-organised by Restart, announced 18 fresh short and feature documentaries that will be screened in the competition, from 20th till 24th of August at the Opatija Summer Stage. Among others, LFF got a chance to screen 5 films as a world and 2 as Croatian premieres. Four films produced by Restart are on the program the last day of the festival out of competition, 'Srbenka' by Nebojša Slijepčević, 'Days of Madness' by Damian Nenadić and 2 films made at the last School of Documentary Film, 'September 3, 2015' by Sara Jurinčić and 'The Place I'm writing you Letters From' by Nikolina Bogdanović

Special Mention to Srbenka at Motovun Film Festival

On the last day of the fetival, the jury of the Motovun Film Festival awarded our film 'Srbenka' by Nebojša Slijepčević with Special MentionGerman directors Sebastian Schipper and Uli M Schueppel, Moldavian director Ana-Felicia Scutelnicu, British musician and producer Mark Reeder and Croatian director Ognjen Sviličić explained their decision like this: 'A very deep and sensitive look into the preparations and rehearsals of a Croatian theatre group dealing with the still open wounds of the last war. Particularly striking is the feeling of death breathing down our neck, now and today, like it does while walking behind the 12 year old girl Nina, an ethnic Serbian, in the streets of Rijeka at the end of the powerful documentary film.'

Srbenka premiering nationally in Motovun

Motovun Film Festival will be the host of the national premiere of the film 'Srbenka' by Nebojša Slijepčević. The film is competing for the main award of the festival, Propeller of Motovun. The film will be presented by the director and cinematographer Slijepčević, producer Vanja Jambrović, executive producer Rea Rajčić, cinematographer Bojan Mrđenović, editor Tomislav Stojanović and sound designers Tihomir Vrbanec and Ivan Zelić. The film will have another Croatian festival screening at the Liburnia Film Festival in August and will come to the big theatrical screens in the end of September, starting in Art kino Croatia in Rijeka.

Restart continues with project Think with film

The implementation of Restart's project Think with film is in its second year. Projects is carried out in collaboration with Centre for Peace Studies, Brave Phone NGO and Green Action. The implementation of the project includes eight secondary schools from different parts of the Croatia: School for Art, Design, Graphics and Clothes Zabok, High school Petrinja, Electrotechnic school Varaždin, Islamic Secondary School "Dr. Ahmed Smajlović", High school "Vladimir Nazor" Zadar, High school "Mate Blažine" Labin, XIII, Gymnasium and X. Gymnasium ''Ivan Supek''.

Restart participated in the STEPS project

The STEPS project is a joint pilot project of the European Union and of the Council of Europe aimed at building and strengthening communities, promoting solidarity, dialogue and mutual understanding between the various communities through action-based action plans. The pilot project STEPS included cities Rijeka and Lisbon. In this context, the project Pass it on - a cultural heritage and added value representing the five neighboring counties of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County - are part of the project, which are part of the program Rijeka 2020 of the EPK - program line 27 neighborhoods. From 18th to 24th June, Restart participated in the realization of dislocated education together with the Ubiqa from Spain, which has been working on the implementation of social communication development and awareness-raising participatory projects for many years.

The school of documentary film

Škola dokumentarnog filma
The school of documentary film is taking place in Zagreb once a year and it is conceived as an intensive programme held by international tutors as well as those from Restart. They will be teaching the participants about basic and advanced skills needed to make their own documentary film.
