Alexandru Belc is the first Croatian Kinedok guest

Romanian director Alexandru Belc is the first guest of this year's edition of Kinedok in Croatia where he came to present his film 'Cinema, Mon Amour'. Belc started the tour on Sunday, 9.4. in Zagreb, joined by the director of the short doc 'Islands of Forgotten Cinemas' Ivan Ramljak in Dokukino KIC, and continues with screenings in the cities of Rijeka (OKC Palach), Pula (Center Rojc) and Varaždin (Cinema Gaj). Kinedok is an international alternative network for the distribution of creative documentaries. This year's catalogue consists 16 intriguing titles from Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Hungary, Norway, Poland and Croatia that will be screened at more than 140 different locations.

Orbit and Wall of Death awarded in Belgrade

Two Restart's films just won awards at the 64th edition of the Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival (30.3. - 2.4.2017). 'All Still, Orbit' by Dane Komljen and James Lattimer is the best film in the category of Experimental Film and Video Art. Sound designer Aleksandar Protić and composer Nemanja Mosurović, who worked on our minority coproduction 'Wall of Death, and All That' by Mladen Kovačević took an award in the category of the best sound design and music. Films were awarded by director Ivan Stefanović, DOP Miloš Spasojević and editor Aleksandra Milovanović.

"Half a Man" wins an award in Romania

Restart's short fiction film "Half a Man" directed by Kristina Kumrić won its third festival award - award for the best short fiction film at Transilvania Shorts Film Festival that was held in Targu Mures in Romania. New festival awards for Restart

Restart's films continue to travel around the world winning awards and recognition. Recently our films won 4 festival awards. Short documentary film "Islands of Forgotten Cinemas" by Ivan Ramljak received an award for best cinematography in Ecuador at Festival Mundial de Cine Independiente de Quito 2017. In Portugal at Cinalfama - Lisbon International Film Awards  two of our films were awarded - short documentary film "Something about Life" by Nebojša Slijepčević won an award for best documentary film and short fiction film "Half a Man" by Kristina Kumrić won an award for best short fiction film and for best screenplay. We are happy and we celebrate the success with our authors!

"Think with film" project has started

The implementation of Restart's new project Think with film has started. Projects is carried out in collaboration with Centre for Peace Studies, Blue Phone NGO, Brave Phone NGO and professional associates Ivana and Ana Katarina Sansević. The implementation of the project includes eight secondary schools from different parts of the Croatia: School for Art, Design, Graphics and Clothes Zabok, High school Petrinja, Electrotechnic school Varaždin, The Kantakuzina Katarina Branković Serbian Orthodox Secondary School, Islamic Secondary School "Dr. Ahmed Smajlović", High school "Vladimir Nazor" Zadar, High school "Mate Blažine" Labin and X. Gymnasium '' Ivan Supek ''.

The school of documentary film

Škola dokumentarnog filma
The school of documentary film is taking place in Zagreb once a year and it is conceived as an intensive programme held by international tutors as well as those from Restart. They will be teaching the participants about basic and advanced skills needed to make their own documentary film.
