Restart continues with project Think with film

The implementation of Restart's project Think with film is in its second year. Projects is carried out in collaboration with Centre for Peace Studies, Brave Phone NGO and Green Action. The implementation of the project includes eight secondary schools from different parts of the Croatia: School for Art, Design, Graphics and Clothes Zabok, High school Petrinja, Electrotechnic school Varaždin, Islamic Secondary School "Dr. Ahmed Smajlović", High school "Vladimir Nazor" Zadar, High school "Mate Blažine" Labin, XIII, Gymnasium and X. Gymnasium ''Ivan Supek''.

Restart participated in the STEPS project

The STEPS project is a joint pilot project of the European Union and of the Council of Europe aimed at building and strengthening communities, promoting solidarity, dialogue and mutual understanding between the various communities through action-based action plans. The pilot project STEPS included cities Rijeka and Lisbon. In this context, the project Pass it on - a cultural heritage and added value representing the five neighboring counties of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County - are part of the project, which are part of the program Rijeka 2020 of the EPK - program line 27 neighborhoods. From 18th to 24th June, Restart participated in the realization of dislocated education together with the Ubiqa from Spain, which has been working on the implementation of social communication development and awareness-raising participatory projects for many years.

Seven films at Croatian Film Days

Selectors of the 27th Croatian Film Days (16. - 20.6., Zagreb) decided to include seven Restart's films in their program. Ivan Ramljak is represented with three, 'Mezostajun' and 'Ships Still don't come Ashore' in the experimental and 'Home of Resistance' in the documentary competition. Two more films are in the documentary program, 'My Life Without Air' by Bojana Burnać and 'Mum, why are you Crying...' by Vladimira Spindler, the film made in Restart's School of Documentary Film 2016/2017. In the side program Outside the Frame the audience will see a Slovenian-Croatian co-production 'Playing Men' by Matjaž Ivanišin and in the section More than Game - Football in Croatian film, 'The Celts' by Đuro Gavran.

Playing Men continues its awards streak!

'Playing Men' by Matjaž Ivanišin, continues to win awards, this time in Montenegro and Brasil! At the 9th UnderhillFest in Podgorica (Montenegro), the international jury awarded the film as the best film in regional competition (Dandelion). At the same time, the film was competing at the Olhar de Cinema '18 - Curitiba Int'l Film Festival, one of the biggest film festivals in Brasil. There it also won the biggest award, the "Prêmio Olhar" in feature-length competition, selected by an international jury, becoming the best film of the festival.

My World is Upside Down best International documentary at Dok

'My World is Upside Down' by Petra Seliškar (Petra Pan Film Production - SI, PPFP - MK and Restart - HR), had its Serbian premiere last week at the festival of music documentaries Dok'n'Ritam in Belgrade, from where we just received great news. Morana KomljenovićMaja Cvetković and Dejan Dabić, the jury of the International competition decided our film is the best one and explained it like this: 'Starting from the legendary Slovenian multimedia artist Frane Milčinski-Ježek, the film transcends time and space with ease, and it moves viewers into the surreal construction of a new artistic reality.' In around a month and a half, a film soundtrack will be released on vinyl LP and 7" single by PDV Records from Zagreb. In the meantime, you can watch the film on our VOD platform.

The school of documentary film

Škola dokumentarnog filma
The school of documentary film is taking place in Zagreb once a year and it is conceived as an intensive programme held by international tutors as well as those from Restart. They will be teaching the participants about basic and advanced skills needed to make their own documentary film.
