Real Mans Film and Salt, Olive, Stone awarded at IFOLT in Slovakia

Short documentary Real Man's Film directed by Nebojsa Slijepcevic was awarded as the best film in Kosice, Slovakia, at 19th IFOLT (International Festival of Local Television) in the category of films produced by independent production companies. The film received Golden Beggar Award, a symbol of this Slovakian city. In the category of production company films were competing 44 international short films and th jury consisted of Slovak director Otto Olejar and British writer James Sutherland-Smith explained their decision to award Real Man's Film for its 'innovative way in which film treats problems and questions of juvenile violence'. Another film produced by Restart was awarded at the festival. Salt, Olive, Stone directed by Branko Vilus won special mention for excellent camera work.

Festival screenings of our short documentaries

Short films produced by Restart Production and Restart Laboratory these days will be screened at several film festivals. In domestic competition of 11. Tabor Film Festival (13. - 16.6.) Real Man's Film by Nebojsa Slijepcevic and Salt, Olive, Stone by Branko Vilus will be shown. Both films will be screened on last festival day, 16.06. at 8 pm. At competition of IFOLT - International Festival of Local Television, Kosice, Slovakia will be screened apart from Real Man's Film and Salt, Olive, Stone, short documentary I'm Nobody by Barbara Matejčić and Nina Urumov. In competition of young authors IFOLT included The Importance of Being Kovacevic by Anja Strelec. At Kastav Film Festival (13. - 15.6.) there will be shown I'm Nobody, The Importanece of Being Kovacevic and short experimental documentary By Night directed by Lucija Busic. New Restart's Laboratory film Love Thy Neighbor by Darovan Tusek will have a premiere at 3.Festival of New Films in Slavonski Brod (14. - 15.6.). This film was developed through the framework of Restart's School of documentary films. Also, four films produced or coproduced by Restart were shown at recently finished Kinootok festival at Izola in Slovenia as part of the Video on the Beach program.

Gangster of Love and Salt, Olive, Stone in Split

Feature documentary Gangster of Love directed by Nebojša Slijepčević and short doc Salt, Olive, Stone directed by Branko Vilus will have its Dalmatian premiere at the 6th Festival of Mediteranian Film in Split that starts 8th of June and last until 15th. Gangster is on the programme 10th of June in 9.30PM in summer cinema Bačvice and Salt, Olive the day after in Cinemateque Gloden Gate in 7.30PM.

The Blockade in Italy

This month The Blockade would be screened in Ancona and Rome. Curatorial crew: Slobodne veze/Loose Associations (Nataša BodrožićIvana Meštrov), Alessandro CastiglioniMarco TrulliClaudio ZecchiNadira LaggouneDelphine Leccas and Charlotte Bank selected the film as one of several Croatian works at the 16th Young Artists Biennial in Ancona (6.6. - 7.7.2013). This year title of Biennial is Errors Allowed with the main topic of education. Sometimes between 21st and 30th of June, film would be screened in the official program of  MedFilm Festival in Rome.

Salt, Olive, Stone won at the Srem Film Fest

Short documentary Salt Olive Stone directed by Branko Vilus won 1st award for Best Ecological Film at the Srem Film Fest, international documentary film festival of tourism and ecology (22. - 24.5.2013, Ruma, Serbia). That was the first official screening of the film and the festival tour continues at the Mediteranian Film Festival in Split, festival IFOLT in Košice, Slovakia and in the domestic competition of 11th Tabor Film Festival.

The school of documentary film

Škola dokumentarnog filma
The school of documentary film is taking place in Zagreb once a year and it is conceived as an intensive programme held by international tutors as well as those from Restart. They will be teaching the participants about basic and advanced skills needed to make their own documentary film.
