
Miro Frakić
Miro Frakić was born in Split in 1989. He finished gymnasium of natural sciences and mathematics before enrolling English and Scandinavian studies in Zagreb. He spent one year in Reykjavik on a scholarship from Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic studies, and half a year in Kalix in Sweden at journalism course. He worked as a program assistent at International Festival of New Film in Split, he was member of Critics Jury at 14th edition of the Festival 25 FPS, and since 2021 he has been working as assistant of Dokukino KIC. He won Vladimir Vuković Award for the best young critic in 2019, which is awarded by Croatian Society of Film Critics, of which he is now a member. At the Faculty of Humanites and Social Sciences in Zagreb, where he is a lector at the Department of Scandinavian Studies, he also gives guest lectures on Swedish film for children and youth and Swedish queer film. His texts have been published in “Filmonaut”, “Hrvatski filmski ljetopis” journal, on “Zona filma” by Croatian Society of Film Critics and other web portals. He participated in a number of film criticism workshops, among others Sarajevo Talents and the workshop by Kino klub Split lead by Jonathan Rosenbaum.
