For the first time during 2017 in eight high we will carry out organized screenings of documentary films that address various current social topics and issues known to high school students. Pre-selected documentary titles include four topics: addiction, tolerance, bullying and peer violence, eating disorders and attitudes towards body images. After film projections professional associates from partner organizations implement lectures and designed discussions on selected topics.
The goal is through four thematic areas train students to think, critically evaluate and analyze the film medium. Empower them and help them in strengthening their confidence through discussions on specific topics, analysis and interpretation.
Upon completion of all the screenings film workshops are going to be held in eight high schools in cooperation of Restart's educational team and the experts from partner organisations. Through workshops specific film elements sound and images are going to be creatively used for addressing topics that have been detected as the biggest problems in specific schools.
As a final activity we will conduct workshops of socially-engaged film during the Liburnia Film Festival for students of eight participating high schools.
The entire project is financed by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia.
