The short experimental documentary “Valerija” by Sara Jurinčić is one of ten international titles selected for the short film competition of the upcoming 30th Sheffield DocFest, that is happening from June 14 to 19 in the city of Sheffield (UK). DocFest, where “Valerija” will have its world premiere, is the biggest documentary festival in the United Kingdom and one of the most important in Europe. The film was produced by Restart Laboratory and Studio Nomad. This film is the result of years of research into the female family trees of the author, generations of her island ancestors, and traditional rituals that often occur on the border between the conscious and the unconscious. Restart’s minority co-production “Between Revolutions” by Romanian director Vlad Petri will have a screening at the festival’s special program ‘Perspectives on Iran’.
