On Thursday, October 13 at 4 p.m. at Dokukino KIC director Ivana Mladenović will hold a masterclass titled “Autofiction”. The masterclass is brought in collaboration with Zagreb Film Festival.
In a conversation with the moderator Jelena Pašić, she will share how her directorial voice has taken shape, from her first documentary to her most recent works. The last three films, inspired by autobiographical books, manuscripts, and personal stories, explore the shift from reality into fiction. She discusses working with non-professional actors who often play themselves, giving voice to marginalized people, and blending fiction and reality in her cinematic practice. This year, as part of the Together Again
program, ZFF’s audience will also have the chance to see her latest film — the uproarious sociosexual satire “Sorella di Clausura”, which premiered in Locarno and
won the Best Director Award in Sarajevo.
The masterclass will be held in Croatian and the entrance is free.
Ahead of the masterclass, on Friday, November 7 at 7 p.m., a screening of the author’s hybrid film “Ivana the Terrible” (2019) will take place at Dokukino KIC.
