In the last few weeks, Restart’s film “Fiume o morte!” by Igor Bezinović has won five new festival awards. In Slovenia, at the Dokudoc festival – International Documentary Film Festival in Maribor, the film won the award for best film in the competition for Slovenian films and minority co-productions. Then in Italy, in Sicily, at the Ortigia Film Festival, which was held for the 17th time in the city of Syracuse, it won the award for best documentary film in the international competition. The jury was chaired by Italian director Fabio Bobbio, and together with him, students from the Italian “Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia” decided on the best film. The film also won the last three awards in the region – the audience award for best film in Bjelovar, at the Dokuart festival and two special awards in Široki Brijeg at the Mediterranean Film Festival – a special mention in the category of best feature documentary and a special mention in the category of best cinematography. The jury in Sicily explained its decision on the award with these words: „For its ability to offer a contemporary and irreverent vision of one of the darkest eras in our history, with a rigorous cinematic device yet rich in original and engaging solutions, a film represents a skilful container of past and present“.
