“The Tale of Silyan” is the new documentary film by director Tamara Kotevska (Honeyland). Through the relationship between a Macedonian farmer and an injured white stork, the film tells a powerful and intimate story about the bond between humans and nature, loss, resilience and compassion.

The film had its Croatian premiere at the Human Rights Film Festival and will enter theatrical distribution across Croatia from January 29 as part of Restart Label. The full screening schedule nationwide can be found here.

Poetic and visually rich, the film blends documentary reality with mythological motifs, creating a striking and emotional meditation on contemporary life in rural North Macedonia.

The distribution is supported by the Cultural Information Center of the Republic of North Macedonia in Zagreb.
