Restart’s co-production, the feature-length documentary “Ruins” by Macedonian artist and director Elena Chemerska, will have its world premiere in the documentary competition at the 28th edition of the prestigious Shanghai International Film Festival, one of the largest film festivals in Asia and the only ‘A’ category festival in China. The premiere screening is scheduled for June 14 at the Shanghai Film Art Center, with the director and the film crew in attendance. Joining Elena at the festival will be producer Ivana Shekutkoska, Slovenian co-producer Ivana Naceva, Restart co-producer Oliver Sertić, sound designer Luka Gamulin, executive producer Atanas Georgiev, and protagonists Rajna Chemerska and Mihail Trifunov. In addition to its premiere screening, the film will be shown three more times. It is competition for the Golden Goblet Award with only four other documentaries from Spain, China, Chile, and Serbia. “Ruins” were produced by the Macedonian production companies Cinema Futura and Minimal Collective, in co-production with Restart, Slovenia’s Potem, and RTV Slovenia.
