Restart's "Gangster of Love" from director Nebojša Slijepčević has won the award for best documentary film at the recently finished South East European Film Festival in Los Angeles. Members of the jury which awarded "Gangster" were Arnold Schwartzman, Oscar-winning filmmaker and designer, Scott Atkinson, story editor from Toronto, and Hans-Martin Liebing, documentary filmmaker.
Two more Croatian directors were awarded at SEEfest – Nevio Marasović was won best feature for "Vis-a-Vis", and Davor Borić Bubi won best short documentary with "The Gorgeous of the Evening".
South East European Film Festival educates about and promotes cultural diversity of South East Europe through its annual presentations of films from this region and year-round screenings and programs. SEEfest organizes conferences and retrospectives, serves as the cultural hub and resource for scholars and filmmakers, and creates opportunities for cultural exchange between Southern California and South East Europe.
