On Saturday, 21 December at 16:30 in Kino Grič (Jurišićeva 6, Zagreb), Restart is presenting a masterclass by the Czech director and producer Filip Remunda, co-author of renowned documentary hits 'Czech Dream' and 'Czech Peace'.
At the lecture, titled 'Docu-mental Comedy', Remunda will explain why the character of Josef Švejk is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for him and how and why irony is a 'must' for every film of the Czech school of realism. He will draw a parallel between documentary films and literary genres, mentioning documentary essays, short stories and novels. Lastly, Filip Remunda will try to give his view of the future of documentaries and give a credible answer to the question which kinds of documentaries are going to be filmed in a hundred years from now.
All those who haven't seen the 'Czech combo' Remunda filmed with co-director Vito Klusak will be able to see them a day earlier at Kino Grič. 'Czech Dream', the film that won many awards and wass dubbed by Michael Moore as the greatest film of the decade, starts Friday, 20 December at 19:00, and you can see 'Czech Peace' at 21:00.
The entry to the masterclass is free.
