Restart has opened the applications for the School of Documentary Film 2014/2015, which will be held in Zagreb from October 7th, 2014 to February 17th, 2015. During four months of intensive training, the students will learn basic and advanced skills necessary for the making of a documentary with the help of Croatian and international tutors.
Breaking apart from the traditional way of teaching film as a process divided into phases, Restart's School of Documentary Film treats filmmaking as a whole. The program is organized as an organic system which gives the students all the skills necessary to make a documentary: basics of film shooting, film and sound editing, production, dramatic composition and directing.
During four months, the students will learn about documentaries through series of film exercises, the final exercise being the making of a short documentary. After finishing the School program, Restart Laboratory will take over the production of the best ideas realized in the School program with professional tutors and mentors guiding the director through the process.
Lecturers and co-ordinators of the School are Ana Hušman, Nebojša Slijepčević, Oliver Sertić and Igor Bezinović. Special lectures and excercises will be held by cinematographer Dinka Radonić, producer Vanja Jambrović, director Boris Mitić, sound recordist and designer Vlada Božić and film editor Hrvoslava Brkušić. Several masterclasses by foreign successful documentarists will be organized during the School's program.
