The 59th edition of Italia's biggest documentary film festival – Festival dei Popoli, held annually in Florence (3-10 Nov 2018), 'Srbenka' by Nebojša Slijepčević won the Lo sguardo dell'altro award. The prize, fully titled The Gaze of the Other: the challenge of dialogue between cultures and religion, and sought by all films in the domestic and international competition, was given to the film by the international jury members: Filipa Reis (Portugal), Stephan Riguet (France) and Biljana Tutorov (Serbia) and awarded by Istituto Sangalli per la Storia e le Culture Religiose of Florence (Sangalli Institute for the History and Religious Cultures of Florence). Meanwhile, in Budapest, 15th edition of International Documentary Human Rights Film Festival Verzio (6-11 Nov 2018) marked another triumph for 'Srbenka' by winning the main prize Best Film Human Right Award, given by the student jury. The end of the week is concluded by Special Jury Mention in the regional competition at the Free Zone Festival Begrade (Serbia).
