Restart's producer Vanja Jambrović has been selected by European Film Promotion to participate in the platform Producers on the Move, which is hosted as part of Cannes International Film Festival and will gather 24 of Europe's up-and-coming producers.
Vanja Jambrović has been selected thanks to her successful work on the feature documentary Gangster of Love by director and scriptwriter Nebojša Slijepčević. She started developing the project at EURODOC 2010 program and participated in several important European pitching forums with the director (Lisbon Docs, ZagrebDox, Docs in Thessaloniki, Dragon Forum). At the East European Forum 2011 in Jihlava, Gangster won the IDFA Forum award for the best documentary in developement, which enabled them to directly participate at IDFA's pitching forum in Amsterdam. These results instigated Romanian and German production companies to get involved in the production, among them ZDF/Arte. Gangster of Love had its world premiere at ZagrebDox 2013, and international premiere at Toronto's prestigious Hot Docs. It was distributed in Croatian cinemas during February and March of this year with 7.480 viewers, an exceptional result for documentary film.
Producers on the Move is a networking platform with the aim to assist the creation of European film co-productions. Participants will be involved in lectures, workshops, pitchings and 'one on one' meetings with film experts and will be given the opportunity for promotion in international industry publications. European Film Promotion is a networking organization for national film centres and promotion agencies from 35 European countries with the aim of their cooperation on joint projects and initiatives which contribute to the placement of European film and film talents in the world. Croatian Audiovisual Centre has been a member of the organization from 2009. Other organizers of the Producers on the Move platform are Arte and Eurimages.
