Liburnia Film Festival, festival of Croatian documentary film just finished its mature and the first Covid edition, held from 24th until 28th of August at the Opatija Summer Stage. The Jury Miljenka Čogelja, Dina Pokrajac, Andrej Korovljev, Vuk Perović and Hrvoje Franjić on the last day handed awards, chosen among 21 films screened in the competition: Best film of 18th LFF is ‘Porvenir‘ by Renata Poljak (produced by REA), which also won awards for best photography (Boris Poljak) and sound design (Iva Ivan). ‘That other Village‘ by Jadran Boban (produced by Fade In) won special jury mention. Karmen Obrdalj is the best director, and her colleague Aleksandar Jurić best editor, both awarded for the film ‘Why is Mom Always Crying?‘ (co-produced by Art Academy in Banja Luka and Karmen Obrdalj). The best regional film is ‘Faceless‘ (produced by Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb and Zebra Creative Network) by David Lušičić from Rijeka, while audience awarded ‘Storkman‘ by Tomislav Jelinčić (produced by Antitalent in co-production with Slovenian Tramal Films and Italian Transmedia Production). The film received very high marks of 4,75 out of 5. Restart’s tutors Ivana Pipal and Vanja Babić held another workshop for kids First steps in Filmmaking.
