At the 20th edition of the Liburnia Film Festival (Opatija, 24.-28.8.), the festival of Croatian documentaries, co-organized by Restart, an award for Best Film was given to the feature documentary “The Building” by Goran Dević (Petnaesta umjetnost, Kinoljetka). The audience gave the highest marks to “Bigger than Trauma” by Vedrana Pribačić (Metar 60). The best regional film is “In Medias Res” by Ana Klepo (Filmaktiv), and the new Critic’s Award Dragan Rubeša, named by the fabulous film critic was given to the film “A Wonder Into the Ocean” by Toma Zidić (Miratecarts, Pulsar Studios, MedVid Produkcija, Antitalent, Kinoklub Zagreb). The best director of the 20th LFF is Goran Dević (“The Building“). The same film celebrated in the category of the best editing (Jan Klemsche). The best cinematographers are Ivan Slipčević and Davor Sanvicenti (“Places we’ll Breathe“) and the best sound designer Luka Gamulin (“The Film Factory“). The jury was consisted of five professionals, dramaturg Ivana Vuković, director of the local Art Cinema Croatia Slobodanka Mišković, cinematographer Andrea Kaštelan, sound designer Jakov Munižaba and the director and producer Mladen Kovačević. Dragan Rubeša Award was given by the young film critic Iva Rosandić. Ivana Pipal and Vanja Babić again led the ‘Film for Beginners’ workshop. The ‘Regionale’ program showed the film made at the Restart’s School of Documentary Film, “Beetroot Soup” by Eva Marija Jurešić, and three more school films had their festival premieres as part of the program ‘Restart Presents’, “Kunac” by Michele Bulešić, “Book of Memories” by Maja Miloš and “Proposals and Experiments” by Neža Knez. On the last evening, an audience had the chance to see “Museum of the Revolution” by Srđan Keča and “Babajanja” by Ante Zlatko Stolica.
