After last year’s world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and the recent Croatian premiere at the 21st ZagrebDox, the feature-length documentary “Wishing on a Star” by Slovak director Péter Kerekes will be released in cinemas across Croatia on April 16th.
It is a co-production of Italy, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria and Croatia, and the Croatian co-producers are Vanja Jambrović and Tibor Keser (Restart). This bittersweet docu-comedy, which examines the influence of stars on the possibility of creating our future, was filmed on the picturesque locations of the island of Cres and its surroundings, and will begin distribution in independent cinemas across Croatia from mid-April. The first Zagreb screening, which will take place on Friday, April 25th at Dokukino KIC, and will feature an Q&A with the director Péter Kerekes and main protagonist Luciana de Leoni D’Asparedo, while on Saturday, April 26th at Dokukino KIC, starting at 5 pm, a director’s masterclass titled Blessing the Obstacles, will be held.
