The 24th Mediterranean Film Festival that happened between October 10th and 14th in Široki Brijeg (Bosnia and Herzegovina) was very fruitful for Restart, where our films won two awards. Our minority co-production “Between Revolutions” by the Romanian director Vlad Petri won the Grand Prix of the festival, given by the main jury, playwright Asja Krsmanović, and director and editor of the film program of the Niš Cultural Center Dejan Dabić. The statement goes as follows: “The Iranian Revolution from the end of the 70s and the Romanian Revolution from the end of the 80s, are the coordinates for the social context of the story in which the two heroes of this film are set, confirming the old rule that the documentary is created in editing and that the imagination of the author is even more important than the reality itself”. This year, the Mediterranean Festival, in cooperation with the Association of Videographers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, established a special award – ‘Best Camera’. The special mention in this category went to Ivan Slipčević, director of photography of our short film “Valerija” by Sara Jurinčić. The jury, consisting of cinematographers Pero Pavlović, Antoni Ćorić, and Mustafa Mustafić, awarded Slipke “for the cinematography work in which quality preparation and associative visualization are read, and using unusual aids, the cinematographer adds new value and comprehensibility to the picture.”
