The Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival is the largest documentary film festival in Poland, and the 16th edition of the festival lasted until May 19th. Nebojša Slijepčević with "Srbenka" returns from Warsaw with the award for the Best Human Rights Film (The Amnesty International Polska Award). In total, 12 films were competing for this award. Jury members Jakub Majmurek (columnist and film critic), Draginja Nadaždin (director of Polish Amnesty International) and Paweł Łoziński (the director), made their decision in the following terms: "The makers of “Srbenka” managed to find a cinematic form that captured the unique nature of Frljić’s creative process, and the reactions of a society provoked by his daring art and having been confronted with a crime. The film is not merely a record of the trauma left in the wake of the civil war, and the crime motivated by nationalist hatred – it also shows how art can sometimes serve a necessary, therapeutic function".
