The end of April and beginning of May brought great festival invitations and some awards for films produced and co-produced by Restart. Today, in Munich, Germany, starts the 39th edition of prestigious DOK.fest München, which selected two films in their selection ‘Best of Fests’, “Snajka: Diary of Expectations” by Tea Vidović Dalipi and co-production “Fairy Garden” by Hungarian director Gergő Somogyvári. Both directors will present the films in person and hold a Q&A with the audience. South East European Film Festival Los Angeles, also starting today, selected our short film “Valerija” by Sara Jurinčić to their short film competition. “Valerija” continues the tour at the Le Cri de Court festival in the city of La Ciotat, close to Marseille (16.-19.5.), and concludes the month in the competition of one of the biggest European short film festivals, Vienna Shorts in Austria. “Fairy Garden” will, after the succesful Croatian premiere in the regional competition of ZagrebDox and the German premiere in the main competition of goEast Wiesbaden in April, this week compete in the program of the Crossing Europe festival in Linz, concluding May in the program ‘Breeze’ at the Beldocs festival in Belgrade, Serbia. Let’s mention that Restart’s co-production “Between Revolution” by Vlad Petri, two days ago received the GOPO Award, for the best Romanian feature documentary in 2023.
